What's for Dinner Mom?...
Can someone make "me" dinner once in a while?
I am 58 years old and sometimes I'll look at the clock, approaching 5:00pm and just want someone to plan and make me dinner! I remember when my husband and I had our first apartment and we missed our moms cooking for us so much, (we had taken it for granted). We ordered take-out and ate a lot of pasta and frozen food back then because we both worked long hours and it was easy.
Now both of my grown children are out on their own and I see them figuring it all out too. I love my weekly calls to ask me how to cook chicken a certain way, how to substitute an item they don't have or what the shelf life of something is. It makes me smile to see them learning to cook and enjoying it. When they come home to visit it's not about mom doing the laundry like in college, but the happy feeling they have that they don't have to cook and plan their own meals! It's just "What's for dinner Mom?".
